Domaine Ferrand is another example of how a generation (From Charles Phillipe) gives suddenly a winery entirely in the limelight, not least helped well on its way to Robert Parker, who believe that Ferrand has been one of the best wines of Châteauneuf-du Pape in the latest generations.
Phillipe took over from his father in 1995 and is the fourth generation in place. Until then, only a small production bottle of his father, almost exclusively for personal use. The son could see how good the wine was, and in 1997 marketed their own wines. The harvest from the sticks who are younger than 30 years are still sold negociant, so everything sold under the Domaine Ferrand, originating from canes that are more than 30 years old.
